Love this piece. As someone who descends from both Native People and European Americans I share your concerns about the traumatic experience of having one’s Native lands stolen. Not only did my Indigenous ancestors experience this but the State of California used Eminent Domain to destroy my ancestral land, home, and neighborhood for a freeway overpass and BART station.
