For your family & friends safety sake see Fire Safety Info page regardless where you live and for those you may know who live in wildfire risk areas forward www.wildfiresafehomes.org link to see Proposed Legislation page along and the Smoke Alarms, Indoor Fire Sprinklers and Exterior Sprinklers pages to get a better understanding why without legislation to make home hardening, defensible landscaping and exterior sprinklers mandatory entire commumities will continue to burn down in wilrdfire risk areas. The cost comparison is over 90% less in California to impliment the 3 preventive mitigation solutions vs total losses from recent wildfires in just 2018 and 2025 so far which totals $650 billion combined losses.

According to the bureau of labor statistics, the median salary for a college professor was $84K in 2023. And, it requires a shitload of work and talent to become one and WAY more work than most people realize, never mind the contribution to society, including around the issue of global warming,

Considering that I am currently a PhD candidate, I understand your point. But many professors make the income I noted- your median proves that. My point is that the 1% is not just millionaires- it's also regular folks who may have a large carbon footprint. Don't shoot the messenger, as they say.
