Fire season has begun with some fires in Colorado and sprinkled throughout the Southwest. This is fairly usual for spring- typically fires happen in the Southwest before their monsoons come in late May/ early June. Let’s hope the monsoons come this year.
According to NIFC, there are currently fire starts in Texas, Kentucky, Alaska, and Arizona. There are 13 established, staffed large fires in the Rocky Mountain, Southern, and Southwest regions.

Wow, there is a lot of food for thought here. Thanks. No matter where we turn today we seem to be losing our best people. Whatever our field of expertise the conflict between what we do as idealistic, intentionally helpful people is weighing on us. I’ve known many first responders or care providers who are stellar human beings but the demands on their bodies, minds, families, friends and more are extreme. In 2022 we have yet more stresses placed on these human beings. Our entire workforce buckles under tha strain and across all fields of endeavor. Much to process.
