Dear Friends,
I know I said I was going to start the long and arduous history of wildfire in the United States a while ago. Life has gotten in the way, like it has for many of us doing many of our things. But I’m glad to say that I’m back at it and the first installment will be out next Tuesday! The series will start in Southern California and document Indigenous fire use there as well as the colonization of the Spanish and the effect this had on fire use and ecological landscapes. I can’t wait for you to read it, and please, if you want access to all of the installments of the series, consider becoming a paying subscriber.
Meanwhile, if you have any pressing research on Indigenous fire in Southern California (or anywhere else in the U.S.) you’d like to share with me, send it my way.
I hope you’re all healthy and hanging in there.
Warmly,
Stacy
