FIRES is Paused While I Finish my Book

Hello Friends,

I’m writing to let you know that FIRES is paused for the next month while I finish my book (about wildland fire!) so I can turn it in to my editor on time. I’ve had to prioritize the writing of this book a couple times and deeply appreciate your understanding.

Please don’t unsubscribe! If you’re a paying subscriber, you won’t be charged during this time. FIRES will begin again in August with a brand new schedule.

Congratulations to all the federal firefighters who got their back pay, and thank you to Grassroots Wildland Firefighters for all your hard work.

I spotted this piece in NPR today, which is super relevant re: the current freeze on rx fire by the feds. We need rx fire!!

Stepping back is tough, but I have high hopes that my book will add to the important discussions surrounding fire, Indigenous rights, and ecological health. I must finish the revision!
